- Get Closer to Nature!

Fairy Penquins Phillip Island, Victoria's renowned natural attraction is situated at the Entrance to Western Port, and is a popular holiday resort for Melburnians. Home of the little fairy penguins, visitors can watch evening parades of the penguins returning back to their burrows from their daily outing at sea catching white bait for their young.

This event takes place like clockwork, shortly after sunset each day, year round with larger numbers of penguins arriving in the summer period as they are rearing their young. This amusing and cute show can be observed from several elevated viewing stands and walkways under subdued floodlights. To protect the penguins and to not interfere with their habitat, there is no flashlight photography permitted. The visitor's centre, which is open daily, has an excellent souvenir shop where you can purchase a memento of the experience.

KoalaPhillip Island Wildlife Park is an enjoyable experience that gives you the opportunity to hand feed tame emus, kangaroos and wallabies and native birds. Other fauna to be seen include wombats, venomous and non-venomous snakes, eagles and pelicans. Off Point Grant, the southwest tip of the island, a group of rocks called the 'Nobbies' rise from the sea where you can find Australia's largest colony of fur seals in their natural habitat. At the peak of their breeding season which is from October to December, about 8000 seals can be seen basking in the warmth of the sun. A ferry service from Cowes allows close-up views of these seals sunbathing on these rocks.
